The Pillar

 
 

What is The Pillar @ CBC?

The Pillar is not a ministry in and of itself.  Instead, The Pillar has many different ministries operating underneath its name.  The Pillar is our church's tool to organize and implement local missions ministries.  All ministries that operate under The Pillar are open to anyone who is willing to serve the Lord.  These are church-wide ministries that seek to bring all members of the CBC family together to fulfill the mandate given in Acts 1:8 to take the gospel out into our community.  The Pillar does not seek to "re-invent the wheel" when it comes to starting new ministries.  Rather, we desire to see where God is already working and join Him in His work.
 

What Can I Do to Serve?

We are always looking for people who have a desire to serve Christ and commit to a long-term approach to ministry.  If you are interested in serving, the following teams are in need of workers:
  • Apartment Ministry Team, The Pillar Prayer Walking Teams, Human Needs Response Team
If you are interested in forming a team for Adopt-A-Block, please let us know!  You will need to have between 8-10 committed individuals to form a team.  We will provide you with everything you need to get started and we will even designate a block of homes for you to begin ministering to as a part of our Adopt-A-Block program.  If the Lord has already shown you a block that you feel led to minister to, please let us know - we are always looking for where God is at work so we can join Him!  Contact Sheryl Roberts or Kyle Via for more information.
 

Active Ministries (They are currently operating):

  • The Pillar Apartment Ministry Team:

    CBC has partnered with Hallmark Timberlake Apartments in Goose Creek to build relationships, pray over needs, share Christ, and create a sense of community among the residents.  This team regularly visits the community, spends time praying with residents, and hosts numerous events throughout the year designed to build relationships and lead residents to Christ.  We are there to serve the people living at Hallmark Timberlake, whatever it takes to show and share Christ's love.

  • The Pillar Adopt-A-Block Teams:

    On the 3rd Saturday of every month our Adopt-A-Block teams visit the blocks they have adopted to minister to the people living there.  Members of the Adopt-A-Block teams will pray over each household and pray directly with residents over their individual needs.  CBC has adopted two blocks in the Hunter's Woods subdivision and is looking to expand to more blocks as the Lord leads us into other areas of this neighborhood and beyond.  Each Adopt-A-Block team has approx. 8-10 members and ministers to approx. 25 homes.  Each month's visit/event has a different theme and is designed to strengthen the sense of community among the residents of the blocks and to lead people to a love relationship with Jesus Christ.
